If you are thinking mafia, mobster, gangster kind of thoughts, then you can relax a little.

This is about you being hunted down…but in a good way.  Trust me, there are no guns, murder or long drives into the forest in the trunk of a car to worry about.

In this post I will show you why you want your Facebook Page to be on one Hit List in particular.

The Hit List I am talking about is a hit list for content. Especially visual content.

This is one hit list you WANT to be on.

What is a Facebook Page Hit List?

It's a list of pages that post content that you love and want to see more of.  It's a list of pages that you go to for content to share – especially images and visual content.

Many of us have a Hit List like this going on….it's just that we might not even realise it or even think about it.

In fact, you probably have this list and a whole lot of others in action right now!

Sometimes they are blogs, sometimes websites, sometimes other social platforms like Pinterest, or our favourite podcast or video channel.

We track them because we know that these sites and profiles produce stellar content, day in day out.

You may not have a physical “list” but I know you have a virtual one… even if it is in your head.  True or true?

Here are some types of lists you might be already using but didn't it a second thought:

  • Facebook Page Likes – there may be a mix of Facebook Pages amongst those you have “liked” but the majority are usually those that you like seeing content from
  • Facebook Interest Lists
  • Twitter LIsts
  • Your Pinterest Boards – favourite blogs, top posts, best podcasts, TV shows I love, My favourite Magazines… the lists go on.
  • Communities and Circles on Google+
  • Favourite YouTube Channels
  • Email Newsletters you subscribe to
  • Blogs on Your Feedly App
  • Not to mention your subconscious list – the pages and websites you visit regularly out of habit. Are you with me?

Shall I go on?  You are a list making machine and you have been doing it for a while.

Want to know the cool thing? You are not alone. Everyone else does this too.  We are list-makers and we can't help ourselves.

So, here's the thing. YOU want to be on the lists of others to get your content shared, right?

Read on to see how that happens.

It's simple. Post content, especially visual content that people love to share. And do it consistently.

I mean same time of day consistency. Sound a little strict? Hear me out.

Every day business owners the world over are looking to other Facebook Pages for content to share.

Here's a stat from Pinterest: 80% of pins are re-pins. That's 80% of people are sharing 20% of the “fresh” new content.

I believe it's the same ratio on Facebook.

Think about it … you wake up and see a gazillion posts, links and images coming through your newstream.  What stops you? Something new and different.

Business Page owners the world over are waking up every day looking for something fresh and new to share – whether they are posting live or scheduling.

If you can give it to them, they will most likely remember you.  If they see they are you posting great content (especially great visual content like images, quotes, memes, funny pictures, images relevant to their industry) you go straight to their Hit List.

And if they notice that you do this consistently, they will sometimes go as far as to visit your page to “see what you have posted lately”

I know that I do. Is anyone with me?

Posting original images consistently on Facebook = other pages returning to your page to share.  Tweet this!

Time and time again when my clients and program members start to post original images (even just one!) at the same time daily, we see other pages start to share their stuff.

But then something happens – they are not only sharing the content from their newsfeed, but when we have reached out to those “superfan pages” to ask, they tell us something interesting.  They go TO the page on a regular basis, to check on new content, because they know it will be of value.  They have that Facebook Page on a Hit List.

The Perfect Tools for a “Hit”

Again, no guns, knives or torturous instruments here. Just a couple of tools to help you get into a “Hit List” mindset.

Naturally, I have a few favourite tools for creating original visual content and if you are a regular reader of my blog you will recognise these:

  • Canva – an amazing DIY Design Tool
  • PicMonkey – a fabulous image and photo editing tool
  • iPhone Apps like WordSwag – you can read about 3 new apps I love here.

But there's one thing I forgot to mention. It's not just about creating original content (although that is a HUGE part of it). It's about curating the content of others.

So those real or “subconscious” Facebook Hit Lists that you have going on – they matter. And I am going to show you a tool to help you use them even more productively.

It's called Post Planner – in particular, Post Planner's Viral Photos Tool to find shareable visual content to post to my Facebook Pages.

It takes the guess-work out of which photos to share from other Facebook Pages on our “Hit-List” – and organises them into folders.

Then when I want to share some content from other pages (and I highly recommend you do) – it not only allows me to find pages that I want to give some sharing love back to, but it allows me to find the images from those pages that are already being shared a lot.

Why guess randomly about content to share when I can see what is is already likely to be well received by my fans!

Here is an example of an image I shared recently from Gary Vaynerchuk's Facebook Page on Post Planner. I knew it would share well on my Facebook Page, because it had already been one of Gary's most popular images.  And it did get shared well on my page.

Post Planner Example
On Post Planner you can choose Most Recent, Most Popular or Most Viral to see which images have been shared the most.

I have seen this happen time and time again with Post Planner.  If you want to find out more – check it out here!

Who has you on their Hit List?

Normally you would run from a hit man. In this case, it's the opposite.  I want you to find out more about him…and his Facebook Page.. and who he has on his List….hopefully you!

Think about who consistently comes to your page and has you on their Hit List.

Find those people and you will find your Super-fans and Brand Advocates.

Start to look at who is consistently sharing your visual content – click on the “share” icon and see!  Comment on their shares (if their privacy settings allow you to) to thank them.

Over to You…

Do you know someone who has you on their Hit List? Reach out to them! Share their content back!

What about your Hit List?

Which social media or marketing or business pages are you sharing?

I would love to hear in the comments below!
