Want to learn more about using YouTube for your business but don’t know where to start? Our 5 Featured YouTube Channels are ALL about YouTube. If you start with just 5 channels, start with these.
YouTube is Social. Period.
It is social because it is interactive and engaging. More than ever, in fact. Since the recent upgrade of the YouTube platform, you can now easily feature your Facebook, Twitter and other social media profiles, which I love. YouTube is also set up to allow commenting, sharing, liking (and disliking) of videos. And most importantly there is a subscribe button – allowing your followers to keep updated when a new video leaves the nest on your channel. With the new playlist feature you can organise your videos into easily viewed “playlists” that feature particular topics or content. It is just like a TV channel and is very, very social. When you match “social” with the 2nd largest search engine in the world (yup, YouTube is the 2nd largest!) then you have a platform that simply must take advantage of in your business.
To help you do that, I am going to hand you over to the experts. Here are 5 YouTube Channel to start watching (and subscribing to) now that will keep you up to speed on all things Video and YouTube, and give you awesome, easy to follow tips, ideas and practical strategies that you can use today in your business:
1 www.youtube.com/colligan – I first came across Paul Colligan via a training program called Social Media Marketing Machines. Paul was the YouTube expert and I would have to say that his practical strategies for optimising your video marketing via YouTube and linking it with other platforms is excellent. Bio: Paul Colligan helps busy people leverage the technologies of new media to get their message out to more people, with less effort, and for greater profit. Yep. and he does it in simple, clear, easy to understand language. Check out Paul’s channel (oh, and he also features on e-marketing vids listed below).
2 www.youtube.com/emarketingvids – I LOVE this channel! Bio: Daily videos about eMarketing from Traffic Geyser and Digital Cafe Studios. and what I really love about this Channel is not only the content provided by experts such as Paul Colligan (as above) Mike Koenigs, but all the other experts that are speaking about their particular niche or specialty area, including Amy Porterfield (Facebook). But the best part is their clever use of Playlists and themes to provide consistent content on topics that are not just about YouTube but all areas of emarketing, such as Make it Happen Mondays, TwitTippin Tuesdays, WordPress Attack Wednesdays, Apps and Tools Thursdays, Facebook Fridays and News. A fabulous channel to keep up to date on all things video and e-marketing, including mobile marketing.
3 www.youtube.com/jameswedmore – I just discovered James’ channel and so far I love the videos I have watched and I have subscribed. Bio: Welcome to the Official Youtube Channel for James Wedmore where I share my rants about video, marketing and other cool discoveries online! This guy is super cool, a great presenter and gives his best content. You will come away with awesome ideas and practical steps to using video effectively to build your brand.
“Video is the window to your brand” James Wedmore
4 www.youtube.com/lbpromo – I recently discovered Lou Bortone’s channel but definitely worth a look and some great videos in there about everything from the basics to more advanced strategies. Bio: Lou Bortone’s light-hearted video series covers the world of Online Marketing and Branding, from Web 2.0 trends to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
5 www.youtube.com/gideonshalwick – Gideon posts some awesome videos about how to film high quality videos (using basic materials and cameras) which I love, and he produces many videos about Video Blogging. But he takes it one step further and provides great tips and content about turning YouTube views into profits. Bio: Getting more views on YouTube is one thing. But actually turning those views into a profit is a whole new story. This channel teaches you how to do that! Video provides loads of tips about online marketing strategies to help you get more views, traffic and sales, which equipment to use to produce high quality videos and strategies for producing video quickly and easily.
